Well except being a Great Event by itself, Gig in the Sky has very interesting equipment and technical specification details. I will try to collect as many information I can from around the web, but be my guest if you know something about the technical and equipment details, the BOEING 757 modifications etc.

Sony Ericsson WALKMAN® launches Gig in the Sky!

Sony Ericsson is taking music to another level by attempting to break the
World Record for the Highest Ever Gig.

Forget arenas, stadiums and festivals, the world famous Jamiroquai will be
performing live to an exclusive audience of 200 special guests – in a specially
rigged jet, 35,000 ft above the ground!

The Gig in the Sky, will take off from Munich, Germany on February 27th 2007,
featuring Jay Kay and the rest of his band performing some of Jamiroquai’s
greatest hits, on a custom made stage, with a full PA sound system and
lighting effects.

The exhilarating musical feast is attempting to go down in the record books as
the world’s ‘Highest ever Concert’, with an official Guinness World Record
adjudicator present on the jet to judge this attempt. Fingers crossed ‘Gig in
the Sky’ will reach the optimum height set down in the strict guidelines that
have been put in place by Guinness.

To complete this ultimate in in-flight entertainment, the jet will descend into a
secret international airport for an elite aftershow party where JK and his band
will perform another live concert to an audience of over 1000 people.

The extraordinary concert will take off in Munich, Germany, before eventually landing at a secret location in Europe for an A-List after show party already in full swing within the airport terminal.
